Sell Your Stuff for Crypto – Craigslist Accepts Cryptocurrency
That’s right! If you wanted Bitcoin for your stuff, it’s possible now that Craigslist accepts cryptocurrency. Craigslist has now added a ‘cryptocurrency ok’ button that enables sellers to indicate that they’ll accept crypto as a form of payment.
Although the site has this option, it is still left up to buyers and sellers to exchange their own payments at the point of sale. This may prove to be difficult for those who have yet to become crypto-friendly. Below is a snapshot of how it looks on Craigslist when making a new Sell Post.
This implementation was first noticed by a Reddit user on December 8th, 2017. Since Craigslist does not offer its own payment system on site, cryptocurrency could become a trustworthy means to exchange goods and/or services. Cash has been the most widely accepted form of payment on Craigslist thus far which has made it tough and impractical to sell higher priced items like a car or boat.
Nothing Set in Stone
Bitcoin & other cryptocurrencies make continuous strides for a more trusted service. However, Craigslist hasn’t made public statements regarding its new ‘cryptocurrency ok’ button. Likely a pilot test, only time will tell if they keep the option available. As for now, it seems the developers at Craigslist lend some credibility to growing trend that is cryptocurrency.
Public Acceptance Draws Nearer
We creep closer to mass adoption as more widely known outlets accept cryptocurrency. If only more major online retailers would hurry up approve Bitcoin as payment, we could live in decentraland sooner than we think.
